Special Education Department


The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) provides for a free appropriate public education for all individuals with disabilities between the ages of 3 and 21.  In order to be responsive to the diverse educational needs of all its students, the Special Education Department of Kankakee School District #111 provides a continuum of services to be considered in determining the appropriate educational program for each student.  These services are determined by the level of need of the student.

 

In partnership with students, families, staff and the community, The Kankakee School District #111, Special Education Department promotes the educational achievement of all students in a unified system. 
 

Kankakee School District #111 provides a full spectrum of special education programs ranging from resource and inclusion through self-contained classes.
