Aroma Park Attendance Area
Even though our school is located outside of the boundaries of the city of Kankakee, our students come from all corners of District 111. Our attendance area includes most of the Village of Aroma Park, much of the unincorporated area to the east of Aroma Park, however the majority of our students come from two areas north of Court Street in Kankakee; the North Wildwood area and the area between Fairmount Street to the railroad tracks to the west. Students enrolled in the math magnet program can come to Aroma Park regardless of their address. See the math magnet section of the web site for more information about magnet enrollment. Contact the Aroma Park office for more specific information about our attendance area.
Butterfly Garden
Aroma Park Primary School also boasts one of the District 111 jewels. We maintain the Aroma Park Butterfly Garden. Through numerous grants and hours of volunteer work the teachers, students and community of Aroma Park came together to build a butterfly garden. The garden is a place where the students can learn about nature, biology, and responsibility. Teachers, students, parents and community members regularly visit the garden to admire its beauty and to learn. Last year our head gardener, Mrs. Adams, also added a section of natural Illinois prairie grass to show what Illinois looked like before it was settled in the 1800’s. Please take some time to visit our garden. The garden is open to the public after school hours or you can visit the office to schedule a time to visit during school hours.
